Threatened species by country
Georgia has eight threatened fish, more than any other class, and three of its four critical cases come from the water: the European eel and the beluga and European sturgeons, all migratory. The fourth is the fan mussel. On land the list is Caucasian — leopard, goitered gazelle and two eagles — while the sea contributes red coral, bluefin tuna and the monk seal.
